Ordering

You can visit us and buy items at our shop. If you are travelling some distance for a particular item, email or call us so that we can put it on hold for you (for up to 14 days). Note that not all our stock is listed on the internet. Callers can pay with most cards, cash or cheque, and of course you will save postage costs as well as have a chance to get hands on with the books!
You can also order securely on the internet by placing the items you want in you shopping cart and following the check-out process. We can accept payment by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Amex etc.), Paypal, cash or cheques. We can take orders by phone (see contact details) using your credit or debit card or for payment by cheque. Lastly can also write to us or call us with your particular interests and we can draw you up a list.

Book Descriptions

We try to describe books as accurately as we can. Book grades are given book/dust-jacket (if any) running from New, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor. New indicates a new book. Other grades follow the definitions laid out on our Condition Definitions Page. Feel free to ask for more detail or additional information, if required, before ordering. We can look up additional details, scan or photograph books & jackets, signatures etc.

Viewing Orders

To view your orders, just click Login or My Account at the top of every page, and then enter your e-mail address and password.
You will them be able to check the status of orders, view past orders, make changes to your account information, change your password and store alternative addresses.

Postage

All books are robustly packaged, usually using specifically designed corrugated book shipping boxes. You can chose from a range of shipping methods at check-out, each calculated of the weight of the book. Each book listing states the book weight. We usually post the next day, but if you have a very short deadline, please contact us to discuss your needs.

Returns & Replacements

In the [hopefully unlikely] event that there is a problem with your order, here's a reminder of our guarantee of service: It is extremely important to us that you are pleased with your order. If you are not completely satisfied with your book/s, they may be returned within 30 days of receipt.
If you do return a book, please contact us first and let us know why, so that we can continually improve our service. Then follow the procedure described in the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations section, although you have 30 days to contact us and return the goods, instead of 7. This does not effect your statutory rights.
For UK based private buyers, you are also protected under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations: You have the right to cancel the contract for a purchase within a period of 7 working days, beginning with the day after the day on which the item is delivered. To return an item, please contact us to let us know you wish to return it, then pack the relevant item securely, and send it to us with the delivery slip so that we receive it within 7 working days after the day of the date that the item was delivered to you. For your protection, you may wish to use a recorded-delivery service and/or postal insurance. Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error, we have made an error describing the book or the book was damaged during the outbound postage. If we do not receive the item back from you, we may arrange for collection of the item at your cost.
We regret that we cannot accept returns of any items that are not in the condition we sent them, unless the damage was caused during outbound postage.
As soon as we receive the returned item, we will refund the relevant amount. If we delivered the item to you in error, we have made an error describing the book or was damaged during the outbound postage, we will also pay the cost of return postage
