A Coast to Coast Walk

A guide to a 190 mile long two week walk that goes from St. Bees on the edge of Lakeland across the Pennines and Cleveland Hills to Robin Hood's Bay in the Yorkshire Moors. Includes a general introduction and detailed route maps with Wainwrights usual commentary. One of the few Wainwrights to have multiple editions within his lifetime, due to revisions demanded by Landowners, whose land was crossed in the original route without a public right of way existing.
Contents include: Diagrams, Introduction, The Sections of the Route, The Pictorial Guide: The Route in Detail, The Pictorial Guide: Index to Place Names, Some Personal Notes and Reader's Log of the Journey.
There are twelve sections of the route: St. Bees to Ennerdale Bridge, Ennerdale Bridge to Rosthwaite, Rosthwaite to Patterdale, Patterdale to Shap, Shap to Kirkby Stephen, Kirkby Stephen to Keld, Keld to Reeth, Reeth to Richmond, Richmond to Ingleby Cross, Ingleby Cross to Clay Bank Top, Clay Bank Top to Glaisdale and Glaisdale to Robin Hood's Bay.
