Alfred Wainwright

Alfred Wainwright is the Author of the world famous "Pictorial Guide to the Lake District" series, a series of immensely detailed hand drawn books revealing the intricacies of the Lake District Fells. He also wrote (drew!) 54 other books (View our online bibliography and guide to first editions), and contributed to many more (See a selection). He wrote these books while living in Kendal and we have a long history with, and an excellent reputation for, his books. We are named in Hunter Davies' biography of Wainwright as one of the top shops for rare Wainwright books. We stock a wide range of first and early edition Alfred Wainwright books, especially first impressions. Our emphasis is on books in very good condition or better and with the correct very good condition jackets. We guarantee that when we say a Wainwright book is a first edition it will be a genuine first edition, first printing.
