Our Specialisms

We specialise in modern first edition, antiquarian, signed and collectable books, especially: Arthur Ransome, Alfred Wainwright, Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth, John Ruskin, The Lakes Poets, The English Lake District and Mountaineering.

Our Stock

Established in 1980, we have a stock of about 4000 books, with the emphasis being on antiquarian and modern first editions in at least very good condition and with the correct dust jackets, where the book was originally issued with one. Roughly sixty percent of our stock is listed on this website. To browse through our stock, use the links above or on the left the left, or use the Advanced Search to find exactly what you want. We avoid cheaper books, paperbacks and books in poor condition. About half our stock is in our specialisms, with the rest being general collectable books that fit our condition standards.

Buying from Us

You can order and pay securely online, call us by phone or call in to our shop. We are open to browsers, at the times given on the Contact Us page. We are happy to hold books if you would like to reserve them until you come and view them.
